Mystery Fiction is a defined term that is used as a synonym for detective fiction or crime fiction. It is a novel or a short story where a detective investigates a crime and then solves it. Some mystery books are sometimes nonfiction. Mystery can relate to a Crime book as often the detective is solving a mystery where a death is involved.
