Share movies on memory card
The LEGRIA FS306 records movies straight to SD or SDHC memory cards – easy to carry and ideal for sharing.

Smaller, lighter
The LEGRIA FS306 is the lightest, smallest digital camcorder Canon has ever made. That makes it a great companion throughout your day.

Movies – in a snap
Video Snapshot mode makes it incredibly easy to create movies for sharing with friends and family. Every time the Record button is pressed, a short four second clip is captured. Simply transfer your clips to a playlist on the memory card, select a soundtrack, and you’re instantly ready to play your movie on a TV – no need for editing on a PC. Four seconds is the average length of one ‘cut’ in a TV show, helping to give your final movie an expert feel. Sample music tracks are provided on a supplied CD but you can also load your own music to a memory card.

41x Advanced Zoom
Letting you get closer to all of the action, the DIGIC DV II processor combines with the optical precision of a genuine Canon Video Lens to deliver the reach of a 41x Advanced Zoom.

Dual Shot
Dual Shot sets all controls to automatic, making the camcorder really easy to use. You can shoot high quality video and photos, without the bother of switching between settings on the Control Dial.

IS with Dynamic mode
Record steadier footage, even when you’re moving. The LEGRIA FS306 features an Image Stabilizer with a new Dynamic mode, which compensates for a wider range of camera shake.

Pre REC
In Pre REC mode, the camcorder starts recording three seconds before the Record button is pressed. These three seconds are automatically added to the beginning of each clip, so you can still capture the start crucial moment even if you pressed the Record button too late.

True Wide 16:9
Record stunning, panoramic widescreen movies in true 16:9. Monitor your video footage the way it appears on a widescreen TV via the 6.7cm (2.7") 16:9 LCD.

Intelligent battery and Quick Charge
Shoot for up to 3.5 hours on a single charge. The intelligent battery displays remaining charge in minutes. When you do need to replenish, it takes just 20 minutes to recharge for an hour’s recording.

Easy DVD burning
Easily burn a DVD. Canon’s DW-100 DVD Burner (available separately) offers simple one-touch burning.

Bird Sound Effects That Might Be Used

Royalty Free Sound Effects.
I found some sound effects on this webpage and we might be using them in our webisode. These are free and royalty free. If we add these, they will be done if we have finished everything else.

The Revenge Of Jessica Hill Feedback From Steve Thorne

Tuesday 12th October 2010

At times the audio mixing is working well, good use of L-shaped audio edits. I think the opening sequence with the audio of the boot footsteps needs to carry on a bit into the next shot with the lockers. They are very loud and suddenly cut when we get to the next scene. I'm looking forward to hearing the piano soundtrack when it's added. Interesting pinhole camera effect on the opening titles, but i think the titles are bit too simplistic and need to reflect your vision of the film's style and feel more.

The early college walking shots change direction (left to right, then right to left and back again etc.) You might want to reconsider this and keep Ali walking mid shots, no use of close ups on the two characters. When James is searching for Ali, maybe we should see his concern? Close up on the vampire bite?

Fantastic costume, but i would like to see a change in atmosphere in the woods as Ali changes into the dressed lady. Have you tried any darkness/nighttime effects? Overall a clear episode, next stage is to add the atmosphere to the piece.

Plan For Webisode After Feedback

The class yesterday gave us feedback for our webisode. We now are able to improve our webisode on the negative points that was given.
What we need to do for our final version for the webisode video:

1. Add some more footage and remove some footage away. This will make a sense of the storyline.

2. Create a soundtrack suitable for the webisode.

3. Record and dub the dialogue as we need to clearly hear the characters speech.

4. Remove some footage of the female character, walking to the woods.

5. Remove some shots of the woods.

6. Make sure that the audience understand the storyline.

7. Add our extra footage that was filmed the other day.

8. Recreate the titles and font to make them link to the webisode.

9. Finish adding the effects to the webisode and finish it on Wednesday at 12pm.

Webisode Rough Cut Feedback

Yesterday Me and the group was given our feedback for the rough cut version for the webisode and most of it was posative. These positive comments are listed below:

Positive:
$ Alisons speech in the woods was well thought of, created and performed.

$ The continuity editing is very good, for example, where Alison is walking through reception. Many angles of vision of Alison walking.

$ Where Alison is transformed into a vampire in the woods between the two trees with her arms up, the lighting is very good and bright as if she did travel in time.

Negative:
$ The sound in the corridor when Alison is walking does not match the sound in the different shot angles.

$ Not any soundtrack, Most of the time we hear Alison walking.

$ The video is not very clear - the storyline/plot is not presented well as people do not know what is happening and what it is really about.

(All feedback has been expanded on)

People thought that the costume was fantastic that Alison was wearing when a vampire. I thought it was really good with the character and the characters storyline, but the flower headband that she was wearing did not look right as she is meant to be a killer vampire.

I am very pleased with the feedback and as a group we will improve on our rough cut and work on thw negative feedback. Our main aim will be to make the story line clearer, and hopeful add in some effects.

Monday 11th Oct Filming

Today we re-shot a few scenes as the previous scenes do not work well in the rough cut.

Rough Cut Webisode

Here is our rough cut video. It was completed Friday afternoon, then it was uploaded to vimeo.
It now has the titles included in it. The establishing shot of long Road will be cut down as it is slightly too long. We are also going to cut down the scene of where Alison walks through the corridor to the college woods as it is way too long and it will make the viewer bored. We are also going to re-film the scene where alison walks into the woods as we are going to have her entering the other end. The rough cut is very good and it works well.

Screen Shots Of Editing 7th Oct 10

Today me and Alison have been editing the footage. So far we have edited up to where Alison (Jessica Hill) walls off from the lockers down the corridor. We have put some footage together that is half way through the webisode as some footage of where Alison walks off upset and out the doors of reception into the woods then disappearing, is still being sorted into a folder which is suitable for editing in final cut.
Here are some screen shots of me and Alison editing our footage on final cut.

We shall be editing all day long as we want views on a rough cut and if we need to add a scene we still have the time to create it as we want it to appeal to the audience.

Wednesday 6th Oct Filming

We as a group has completed the filming today for our webisode. Filming has taken 2 days and one lesson to complete. I was the on set photographer and partly filmed. Me and Sophie took it in turns to film.

Durning filming the fire alarm went off, because of this we was 20 minutes behind filming, so the filming went on for longer than expected. The scenes that was filmed today was Alison doing one more take with her conversation with James, but instead of James (Oliver Houghton) voicing, Sophie did this as James was not needed. Then we had Alison (Jessica Hill) walking down the corridor and out reception doors into the college woods.
Then when in the woods, her being attracted to the two trees and disappearing.

Filming went well apart from the fire alarm, (when this happened we had to quickly pack up the equipment so that it did not get damaged during the process of us evacuating the building.)

Tomorrow we shall start editing the footage and we hope to get a rough cut by the end of the day on friday 8th.

Tuesday 5th Oct Filming Day

I was the on set Photographer.
Here are todays photos of filming, and the group talk of the structure of the day.

Risk Assesment

Here is the risk assessment that alison has created in her spare time at home. It is also located in our group production bible.

Health and Safety

Here is the heath and safety document that was produced for the project. It was created By Alison Murphy in her spare time at home.

Health & Safety Policy (Film Production)

General working environment (Classroom)

Aspects which will need to be taken into consideration during working within the classroom are as follows:

There should be no trialling wires where possible and if there are then everyone must be cautious when moving around the class room

Food & drink should be kept away from any electrical appliances (laptop, cameras etc) as spillages may occur and equipment may become faulty as a consequence

There should be adequate space around work stations as to not create stress and discomfort for other fellow students

Heating and ventilation within the class room must be suitable Lighting must be suitable (eliminating glare or reflections on the laptop screens where possible) Work stations / stools must be of a strong standard which are not faulty and lead to breaking as

injury may occur as a result.

Filming Process Aspects which will need to be taken into consideration during the filming process are as follows:

General awareness of surroundings and what risks are within the immediate area whilst filming Equipment must be up to a working standard prior to the filming process in order to not cause

injury due to faulty parts i.e. tripod / camera During the filming process people within the group must all be acknowledged on what the plan

is in order not to cause confusion / stress / or an argumentative state within the group

Editing Process

Aspects which will need to be taken into consideration during the editing process are as follows:

Due to the use of computer / ICT within the editing stage of production the entire group must be acknowledged on the general health and safety for ICT when using the laptops within the class room

The main factors which will need to be taken into consideration during the use of the computers / laptops are as follows:

Use adjustable chairs (computer chairs) when and where available to avoid back and neck pain / strain

Check that the lighting is suitable to reduce screen glare / eye strain Make sure that the immediate working environment (desks) are not cramped / cluttered Take scheduled breaks from using the computer (Take it in turns within the group) The laptop screen should tilt in order to avoid a bad posture and lead to back pains / cramp Foot rests could also be used in order to create a better posture and avoid strains and pains

The most common ICT related issue which occurs during the use of computers is RSI, which is when damage occurs to the fingers, wrists and other parts of the body due to repeated movements over a long period.

In order to prevent RSI, make sure that posture is correct, use wrist / foot rests and use the correct computer chairs (where and when available) also have a five-minute break from typing every hour.

Webisode Script

30th September 2010

Alison Murphy, Alexander Shaw & Sophie Watson – Project

Scripting by Alexander Shaw

The Revenge of Jessica Hill

Script

Opening shot of Long Road College to show audience where the location is.

Jessica Hill enters:

Walking towards the lockers within the college, Jessica notices a photo on her locker door. (The photo shows Oliver Houghton kissing a girl, who is not his girlfriend Jessica Hill.)

Oliver Houghton enters:

Walking up to Jessica Hill’s locker, he sees that Jessica is holding a photo of him kissing another girl.

Jessica and Oliver stand face to face in a corridor outside the LRC, by the lockers.

Jessica stares at Oliver, eyes upset and ashamed

Jessica

Care to explain?

Oliver looks at Jessica feeling awkward.

Oliver

I was trying to tell you, but I could not find the right time.

Jessica sighs and looks at the photo, feeling disappointed.

Jessica

Well, when were you planning to tell me?

Oliver

Don’t be so dramatic about it; it was a terrible mistake,

I don’t want it to affect us and what we’ve got.

Jessica pushes past Oliver in a hurry to escape, as she is too humiliated to stay where she is.

She runs down the LRC corridor, through reception and out of the doors to the left of reception.

She runs to the college woods to find a place where she is isolated and unseen by others. She stops and watches a figure walking through the woods. The figure is a woman wearing a sleek dress and walking as if she is in control and no one can stop her. Jessica decides to see what the woman is doing, so she follows the woman for a few seconds and then she disappears within the woods.

Jessica searches through the woods for the woman, but there was no sign of her. She then comes across two tall thick trees. One tree has a crystal stone. This attracts Jessica towards them, but the two trees have an unbelievable power. As Jessica walks through them to get to the hanging crystal stone, she disappears in a flash of light. A few minutes back in time, before she disappeared, Jessica reappeared, in a sleek dress. She walks a meter away from between the two trees and chants a witches chant,

My seven sisters from native birth granted me a gift

new born life.

The mysterious spirits of the trees divide my kind. I seek the revenge for one mortals life, from every beat that lives you stand as my prey.

Jessica

Then Jessica smiles revealing two vampire fangs. As Jessica walks through the forest, she hears someone following her, so she leads the person near two tall thick trees and disappears out of the follower’s sight. While the follower has been lost, Jessica runs back through the forest, then out of now where, Oliver appears and confronts her.

Oliver

We need to talk

Jessica

Sure we do, then let’s talk

Jessica grabs Oliver and pins him up against a tree, Oliver struggles.

Oliver

What are you doing, are you crazy?

Jessica interrupts Oliver

Jessica

You don’t get it, do you? You destroyed my life and humiliated me.

Oh, by the way, do you like my new gifts?

Oliver

What gift and from who?

Jessica

Not gift, gifts.

Jessica smiles which reveals her two vampire fangs.

Oliver replies in fear and horror.

Oliver

What the hell are you?

Jessica

It’s a gift, a gift from time itself, a woman in the mist, steak of stone made from a shard of glass…

Oliver interrupted in a struggle

Oliver

I still love you, so let me go and we can make it work

Jessica

I am no fool, for what you’ve done, you’ll pay

Jessica pushes Oliver’s head to the left, smiles, then bites.
